Speaking Of… collects nothing.

That is the whole policy. Here is the long version, because a keyboard asking for trust should explain itself.

What we collect

Nothing. Not what you type, not what you say, not who you are, not what apps you use. There is no analytics package, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter, and no account to create.

Where your data goes

Nowhere. Speaking Of… contains no networking code of any kind. It cannot send anything anywhere, because there is nothing in it that knows how.

What we store

One thing: the colors you pick for your keycaps. They are saved on your own device so the keyboard and the app can both see them. They never leave your phone.

Dictation and the microphone

Speaking Of… has no microphone access at all — iOS does not permit keyboards to record audio, and we do not attempt to work around it. When you dictate, you are using Apple's own dictation, built into iOS, in the row below our keys. That speech is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, not by us. We never see it. We are not told it happened.

“Allow Full Access”

iOS shows a strong warning when you enable Full Access for any keyboard, and it is right to. For most keyboards, Full Access is what lets them send your keystrokes to a server.

For Speaking Of…, it does exactly two things, both of them cosmetic: it lets the keyboard read the keycap colors you chose in the app (iOS provides no other way for an app to hand a setting to its own keyboard), and it lets the keys tap back — iOS reserves haptic feedback for keyboards with Full Access.

Neither one sends anything anywhere. You never have to turn it on. Every key works without it — just quiet, in Apple's default colors.

Children

Speaking Of… is safe for any age. It collects no data, so there is no children's data to protect.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date above changes with it. If we ever begin collecting anything — we have no plans to — it will be announced here and in the app before it happens.
